Tame Your Inbox with the 2-Minute Rule
Email management is a universal source of stress. We all spend too much time sorting through our inbox. The solution? The 2-minute rule, an efficiency method that applies to all areas of life.
The principle is simple: if an action (replying to a client, paying a bill, confirming an appointment) takes less than two minutes, do it right away. Do not put it off. The time you would take to write down this task or keep it in mind would be greater than the time needed to execute it immediately.
For messages that require more time, you have three options:
- Schedule: If it's important, block a specific time in your calendar to do it.
- Delegate: If it's not your priority, forward the task to the right person.
- Automate: Use rules to automatically sort, reply to, or delete certain types of messages.
By applying this rule, you will free your mind for what really matters.
